I know I haven’t blogged in a few weeks. So I’ve finally taken the time to sit down and write about all the interesting happenings with Straightjacket Momma! These are random thoughts in no particular order – it’s the way my brain is functioning!
Funny things that have happened over the past few weeks
• I had my picture made with Jon Bon Jovi – a poster that is – at the Hard Rock CafĂ© in Louisville, KY.
• Bill comes running through the house screaming “bees, bees, bees” for no apparent reason. And he says I’m crazy!!
• Bill and Adam are talking about Braille and Adam wants to know how to speak Braille.
• A tornado warning was issued in our area earlier this week and I went to the basement.
• Adam partially cleaned his room.
• Bill, Adam and I went to the eye doctor – we all got our eyes dilated and had trouble reading or seeing anything correctly the rest of the night. Bill was trying to pick out a sucker at the Doctor’s office and after touching each one trying to read the label, one of the secretaries was kind enough to ask him what flavor he wanted.
• I was so tired one night that I snored really badly. Bill considered going into another room.
Other stuff:
• Adam enjoyed Boys State at Tennessee Tech.
• Momma and Daddy are enjoying a much needed and deserved cruise to Alaska. Bill and I went to Louisville, KY and Indianapolis, IN to celebrate our 7 year wedding anniversary.
• Visited our neighbors – Aaron, Alison, Gracie, and Wyatt - in Indy who are working in the carnival arenas. We had a blast getting to visit with them and taking Gracie around on the rides.
• Visited my Aunt Rhonda and Uncle Randy, and cousins Clay, Stephanie, and Chad in Elwood, IN.
• Visited the Louisville Slugger Bat Museum and had my picture made with the largest bat in the world.
• Played the piano during the offertory Sunday morning. I played “People Need the Lord.”
• Scheduled to play the piano again July 6.
• Adam got a job at Food City
• Adam drove all the way to Maryville for a basketball scrimmage – his Jeep broke down on the way home. We think he got bad gas. (that last part may need to go under the funny stuff!)
• I was the lead teacher in Crafts during Vacation Bible School. Should that go under the funny stuff?
• I have worked 7 of my required 10 days after school is out at Oakdale.
• I worked 4 full days this week and did VBS every night. I was exhausted by Friday night but it was an awesome week!
• Met with a lawyer about the final stages of dealing with the Oneida “meth” house.
• My brother and his wife and girls got to move into their new house.
• I made a homemade pineapple upside down cake – momma’s recipe- for the teachers at VBS. I brought home an empty container.
• Adam got contacts.
• Realized my hobby is taking pictures!
